Privacy Policy

On this page

You can read Medullis without creating an account. This policy explains what information is handled when you visit the site or contact us, why it is needed, and how to ask a privacy question.

Information you provide

If you email us, we receive your email address, your message, and any information or attachments you choose to include. We use these to respond, assess a correction, or discuss a contribution.

Contributor applications may include qualifications, professional registration details, work history, and relevant interests. We use these to assess suitability and verify professional information. Public biographies and article credits are separate from private verification records.

Please do not send patient records, identity documents, or other sensitive information unless we have agreed a suitable way to provide it. The site does not offer patient consultations.

Information from a visit

The services that deliver and protect the website process technical information such as an IP address, browser details, requested pages, and the time of a request. This helps the site load, supports security, and allows faults to be investigated.

Search terms form part of the page address and may appear in browser history or service logs. Avoid putting names or private health details into a search.

Some page resources are delivered by external providers, which receive the connection details needed to load them. Following an external link takes you to a service with its own privacy practices.

Cookies and site features

Functional cookies may support site security or authorised staff sign-in. Public comments, reader accounts, and an on-site submission form are not currently offered. We do not currently use an advertising or audience-analytics tool to profile readers.

You can manage cookies through your browser. Blocking a necessary cookie may affect a feature that depends on it. We will update this policy if our collection or use of information changes.

How information is used and shared

We use information to operate and secure the site, answer correspondence, manage editorial work, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.

Service providers may process information to host and maintain the site or deliver email. Access is limited to what is needed for their work. Relevant correspondence may also be shared with an author or reviewer to investigate an editorial concern, with personal details limited where possible.

Information may be disclosed when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, address abuse, or respond to a security incident. Providers may process information in countries other than your own; applicable safeguards are required where the law calls for them.

Retention and security

We keep information for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, including unresolved correspondence, editorial accountability, security, and legal duties. We remove or anonymise information when it is no longer needed, subject to legitimate recordkeeping and backup requirements.

We take reasonable steps to restrict access and protect information. No internet service or email system can promise absolute security.

Your choices and requests

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may be able to request access, correction, deletion, or a restriction on how your information is used, and to object to certain uses. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it. You may also have a right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

For a request or privacy question, email contact@medullis.com. Tell us what you need without including unnecessary sensitive information. We may ask for enough information to verify that a request concerns your own data before acting on it.
